“Drozdy in onsen” is a multimedia live performance that takes us on an audiovisual journey from Tokyo to Slovakia, in a fusion of traditional and digital media where the performers combine live digital drawing, animation, VJ:ing and sound art. The theme playfully approaches the contrasts of reality and fiction, folklore and pop culture.
For the first time in the history of the world, a digital midi “Ozembuch” is invented, moving this traditional Slovak percussive instrument into the present and preparing it for the future.
The project was developed during a two-week artist residency at Nástupiště 1-12 in Topoľčany, Slovakia. During the residence, four artists of different disciplines came together with the ambition to combine their respective skills into the format of live performance.
